DW-TG2 dual-frequency sonde with switchable power. Works with SubSite/DitchWitch TK series or TK RECON series locators. The probe transmits 24 clock positions and tilt with an accuracy of ±0.1%.

The working depth depends on the selected frequency and power mode of the transmitter.

Instructions for switching frequencies.

The frequency is selected when installing the batteries in the battery compartment:

12 kHz — when installing the batteries from above;

29 kHz — when installing the batteries from below.

The selected frequency is set after 5-7 seconds. Before turning on the sonde (after 5-7 seconds), hold the selected vertical position (for 12 kHz or 29 kHz)! The probe continues to operate for 40-50 seconds after the batteries are removed, so when changing the frequency, it is necessary to hold the probe for one minute without batteries.

Switching to high power mode.

When switching the probe to high power mode, the maximum drilling depth of the DW-TK2 probe increases from 20 meters to 25 or 30 meters, depending on the selected frequency. At the same time, the operating time is reduced by up to two times. With any new installation (replacement) of batteries, the probe starts operating at standard power.

To switch the sonde to high power mode:

-lift the operating sonde upside down for 7 seconds,

-then lower it upside down for 7 seconds,

-lift it up again for 7 seconds, during which time the transmitter switches to high power mode, after which the transmitter can be installed in the drill head. Seven seconds is about the same as counting to twelve.

After that, check the increase in power (increase in signal level) using the locator, then perform the standard calibration procedure.

After replacing the batteries, the probe will resume operating at the standard power level. To switch it to high power mode, repeat the procedure described above. There is no need to recalibrate the locator.
